Rappahannock Fall HS Baseball League
                                 League Rules and Guidelines

Regular Scheduled Games:

All Games will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

Teams will play 2-5 inning games per day and play ties out...to the time limit. There is a 2 hour time limit on each game.

The 10 run rule is in effect after 3-1/2 or 4 innings.

 

Teams should be at the game site 30 minutes prior to game time. A 15 minute grace will be granted for the first game only, before a forfeit is declared. The second game shall start 20 minutes from time of forfeit. No grace time shall be granted for the second game.

The home team is required to have the field marked and each team is required to provide 4 baseballs each. The visiting team will be home for the 2nd game, and players are not permitted to leave between games.

Basic Playing Rules:

The basic playing rules shall be VHSL Federation rules, with the exception of those listed here.

A: Pitchers may only pitch 5 innings per day. (Violation of this rule will result in head     coach ejection, and possible forfeiture of the game

B: Unlimited re-entry for players, the batting order must not change.

C: You may bat 9, 10, or your entire lineup. (Must be declared at the plate conference). Whichever way you choose, you must stay that way through the entire game. If someone gets hurt, and you are batting everyone, then a out shall   be recorded when that spot comes to bat.

D: Injured players can be run for, but they must be declared at the plate conference. Courtesy runner will be a legal substitute, or last batted out.

 

Coaches must contact the league commissioners immediately concerning any ejection.

The league commissioners have the authority to impose additional penalties for violations of any VHSL rules or exceptions.

During the regular season, Coaches may move B players to the A team,  But no A players can be moved to the B team, without RFBL Board Approval. 

Regular Scheduled Games Rainouts & Makeup’s:

All Games should be played as scheduled except for Rain, Homecoming, or S.A.T testing.

Rain:  You must Call 540-455-5164 by 7:30 am if your field is unplayable for that days games.  (Both Coaches)

Rainout games will be posted on our website.  

Communication between the two coaches should start immediately to reschedule the game. Once both coaches agree on a date and time, you must then call 540-455-5164 or email Jeff Fink at JFinkSr@Gmail.com to finalize the rescheduling of the game.

Rained out games need to be made up, before the next scheduled game.

Makeup games can be played on Sundays (no earlier than 1:00 start time.

Makeup games can be played thru the week, (NO Friday Games)  

Weekday games will be one 7 inning game, with a 2hr and 15 min time limit.  Makeup games that are played during the week, must start no later than 6:30.

NFHS Composite Bat Rule Change
The NFHS has moved the compliance date for composite bat changes forward from 2011-2012 to 2010-11.  This means that any composite bat used during the 2010-2011 school year must: meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR); be labeled with a silkscreem or other permanent certification mark; have the certification mark that is rectangular, a minimum of a half-inch on each side and located on the barrel of the bat in any contrasting color.
